Wicked Monday

Sunday (8-ish, pm)

Hubby received a viber message from a friend offering tickets for a west end show – Wicked And get this: for 4 people for the price of toooot! (Sabihin na nating yung presyo ng isang ticket, naging pang apat!). We were a bit sketchy at first cause hey, it was too good to be true. But the seller was a trusted colleague so we took the offer anyway and invited two more friends (who we kept on warning that we weren’t 100% sure of the tickets yet but asked them to just be ready anyway -on call ang labanan beh).

Start of another work week. I was excited but I didn’t want to get all fired up and then later, disappointment. We haven’t physically seen the tickets yet so I was still a bit apprehensive the whole morning. At around 4pm, we took toil from work and went to the seller’s house for the ticks. Or voucher I should say.

5pm. We’ve already made it to the Apollo Victoria and exchanged the voucher. Whew! Confirmed legit finally. Lol. Texted our plus ones to start their journey. Show starts 19:30.

I’ve only ever been to a few West End shows and by far, I could easily say Wicked is there (tied with the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) on the top of my list. I’ve been belting to the song Defying Gravity for god knows how long now (feelingera much, sintonado naman lol!) and I’ve always been curious how the actual live show was. Also, The Wizard of Oz is such a classic film I wanted to see the other side of the story.

If you’re planning to watch this soon, push mo yan teh! It was really good and even the actors were amazing! I also think it would be worth to spend a bit more if you opt to get good seats. And as early as now, I can tell you I won’t mind watching the show again. I also want to give props to Alice Fearn who played the lead role Elphaba. Her voice is just so captivating it took me days to recover (honestly, not fully over it yet! Still playing it on youtube/spotify) from her version of Defying Gravity. Here’s a sample from when she performed it at Pride!

Lamyerda Diaries

The Grandest Showgays

From the raging heat of Tuguegarao to the bitter cold winds (with a dash of snow) of London. This is indeed true mga teh! It does still feel surreal. I remember those days when we were still praying for this. How on those random emotera nights we were planning of going to places we only just dreamed of seeing. My heart is full knowing that somehow, we are living up our dreams and achieving our life goals. Started from the bottom now still bottomesa ang peg! Charot!

Lakas maka pa rosy cheeks ni weather! Kala mo meztizahin!

Hello! I’ve been busy the last few days because of work and spending quality time with these lovely ladies. It’s such a nice feeling to have your closest friends around. Yung mga friends who saw you nung mga uligba moments mo palang. More importantly, yung friends who can match your level of craziness! Can you just stay here forever?

When we were still in college, we used to have this dream na “one day, pag nasa abroad na, pagdating sa kainan hindi na kkb. Maguunahan na tayo sa pagbabayad ng bill”. In fairness, na-achieve na namin yan!

This was not their first time to visit though. They went here last October for my beki edition bridal shower and during that time, mega clubbing pa ang mga ate. This time, even though St. Paddy’s we all just opted to go home. Tapos the next day, nag tsaa na lang ang mga tita!

I wish we can do this every week, kaso taga Ireland pa yung dalawa so keri na yung every few months or so. I am still hoping na one day, all of our barkada will reunite again. Literal na nagkahiwa hiwalay na kame ( Canada, New Zealand, US, UK, Republic of Ireland, Middle East and Pinas). I miss all the crazy things we do together and how I can laugh non stop! Possible pala yun?

Kundi puyat, may sakit

As the title implies!

I’ve noticed lang na of all times that I write, yun ay pag insomiac mode ako, or bedridden. Ganun na ba ka-busy ang life ko? Parang I want to do something new, and different just to break off all the routine.

Ayun na nga. I had to go home early today cause I felt so nauseated. Feeling ko nahawa ako sa mga ward na pinasara ko dahil sa Noro. Saklap lang. Di pa nagparamdam yung symptoms kahit sana tomorrow nalang dahil last day of work na yun. Oh well papel.

Anetch paba? I’m just hovering around sa room ngayon, and yes! Here’s my bullet journal-year in pixels!

Nakakahappy siyang pagmasdan. Parang may summary ako of how this year went by. It’s also nice to see na despite those blue areas (sad, depressed moments), mas madami paring matingkad na eksena.

I also just received this doll. I’ve never been the girly girl and I am not a fan of pink but since may asawa nako, hahahah I’m trying to get in touch with my feminine side char! Eto na siya! Siyempre my first instinct nung pinapapili ako black kaagad! But when I saw the white and rose gold details, I fell in love. Na-feel ko yung pagkababae ko. And, it matches my room so avail! Also, I’ve promised myself na in the coming year, I will start building a library- books and records. Sa books medyo puno ko na yung isang shelf ko, so I bought another shelf for my record collection. Hihi!

Speaking of books, I finally had time to read again! Well, initially I bought books for our flight to LA kaso pagoda ang lola, di ko na nabasa. Pero paguwi naman ng UK, naisingit parin siya.

The story is set in UK, and has the ‘gone girl’ ish feel. I found this through #wtfending and yes napa watdapak talaga din ako. I love how twisted the story is. Made me excited to read more books next year! Anubeyen sobrang busy ko na sa books and music ko!

Maiba naman. Bukod sa books and music, another thing that I love is travel. From the last countries I’ve visited, I got the usual souvenirs na mga keychain, shotglass anik anik. But I’m having trouble finding a good storage place for all of them. Plus dumihin. Accumulates dust. I also have a scratch map sa room so parang andami na masyadong paandar medyo messy na tignan. And then I read in one of the tumblr blogs I follow about sending yourself a postcard from where you currently are and that sounded like a really good idea. So, I’ve started na but I’m still trying to be consistent, so bungi bungi pa but getting there. I’ve not travelled much the past year and this year din so ito palang.

So the one from Venice was from last year. Then yung Cali I just received yesterday. Still waiting for the Temecula and Vegas cards. May pa-message din ako at the back, sort of reminding me of the things I enjoyed doing sa place na yun and yung most important is, may stamp yung service kung saan siya nasend. I’ll probably try to keep this up sana ma push ko pa.

Ano pa ba mga mamshie?
