2 years after the show opened in London, I finally watched Hamilton! Just a backstory, ever since I saw them promoting this play and opened for one of the awards show, I have fallen in love with the music. I’ve watched performances on youtube, memorised some of the songs and even saved the playlist on my phone! So imagine how happy I was when they announced they were coming to West End right? It was quite expensive though and seats get fully booked easily. Of course, being the cheapangga person that I am, as much as I loved seeing it asap, I had to be practical and patiently wait for a more budget-friendly ticket. Subscribing to Ticketmaster’s email alerts was my saviour and luckily, my wait had to come to an end – yasss!

The music just won me over a thousand times. I was bopping my head and thumping my fingers the whole time. Another proud moment was Rachel Ann Go’s superb performance. We did try to see her after the show but she already left when we got to the backstage door. Still, we got to personally congratulate the rest of the cast. And PS, that’s not Craig David! It’s Alexander Hamilton Lol! PPS, I was so haggard kaloka! hahahah!

April marks the end of my second module in Uni. Which also mean cramming to finish all the final requirements. I am still trying to polish everything right at this very moment and I just felt like taking a break from writing a very structured and formal essay hence, the random snippet. I am liking the challenge though. And that feeling of accomplishment knowing I am getting somewhere. I don’t exactly know where, but definitely somewhere. I do hope I pass though lol. We’ll see! Also, here’s my mandatory university pic! I am loving all the student discounts!

I have been chasing Aurora for 2 episodes (Iceland and Scotland) now and all I (literally) have is a 3 second image from my mind (she literally just said hi and bye when we were hunting her in Iceland) but nothing for me to physically keep which I can call mine. I know one day, we will eventually catch her but this faux Northern Lights installation in Tower of London a few weeks ago did leave me wanting for more. Artificial but already breathtaking. How much more when I finally see the actual thing? Sooooon bessssh! PS. Not the best photo but, you get what I mean char!

Lastly, can I just say.. Level 1000 nako sa Candy Crush (ultimate pampalipas oras) and on the 1000th day on Timehop. Babush!

#ThirtytaDiaries: Unang Hakbang

I know most people I know did 30 things before turning such age. I did plan on doing that too kaso, tinamad at nagprocastinate. But I think it still is a good idea to do a list now that I’m actually 30 so at least I have something to keep me busy (as if I’m not) and say nung trenta ako, eto yung mga ginawa ko.

D A N C E

Dancing has always been a big part of my life. I even wanted a career out of it. I’m not saying ang galing galing ko ha cause I know I’m not it’s just that it gives me so much joy and a different type of high. All I ever dreamt of was to become one of Michael Jackson’s back up. So nung nategi siya, I told myself ay, si aunti Janet nalang pala muna or Destiny’s child kasi sila yung uso. I did join clubs and contests in college but there were just too many things happening around me I had to take a step back and focus on my studies and later on, my career.

Yung step back ko, never nang nagstep forward ulit. I got too caught up with everything kinalimutan ko yung isa sa mga bagay na nagpapasaya sakin. Since my project 30 is about indelible memories and reconnecting with my passions (gusto mo yong may pa theme ako? Hahaha), it was just right to start it with dancing. Ayan na, finally taking my first step forward. Hasthag Ang unang hakbang.

Parang ang daling sabihin nung unang hakbang but I’ve actually lost all confidence to do it. I’ve searched for numerous programmes available- yung beginner friendly (dahil my skills are basically back to 0) and di sing mahal because you know, a true Tita is well versed with the term value for money. Luckily, I found one that offers a free trial session. Paaaak! Thiz iz it!

Napaaakaaahabaaa nung chika ko but to cut it a bit short (wow ha) I finally took classes after so many years of uncertainty and procastinatiob. Unfortunately, no videos or pictures were taken kasi nabusy ang lola nyo. I’m rubbish now compared to when I was so active but I was just so happy doing it ayoko na ngang umuwi.

I guess what I learned from this experience is that despite getting caught up with all your responsibilities like bills or work and everything adulting, wag din kakalimutan yung responsibility to yourself to make time to do the things that make you happy. Napaka iksi ng life! We will never really know when our time is due thus grab every opportunity or take chances as soon as possible.

Random Snippets #15

• I always rant about my sleeping issues here but there’s a new development. Lately, my usual techniques didn’t seem to work (kahit yung ever dependable vicks on my eye lids walang epek!). For some reason, I stumbled upon ASMR sleep videos and as much as I didn’t want to admit it, tumalab siya for me. Ang weirdness ko talaga lumelevel up!

• I sometimes have this mood wherein I just want to be lazy and left alone in my bed/sofa and that is exactly what I did last christmas. Add to that I also caught the flu so at least I had a socially acceptable reason to ditch everyone.

• Andami ko ring napag isip isp during this hibernation katulad ng pano kung manananggal ka pero ang hati mo lengthwise. Kakaiba talaga yung flow ng utak ko pero I’m happy kasi I saw someone tweet a similar concept and naconfirm ko na di ako nag iisa.

• Time will always be worth more than money and regret.

• Ang tanda ko na pala talaga.

• So we just watched Bird Box last night and I enjoyed it so mega promote naman ako sa friends and ang funny lang kasi nashunga ako and I kept saying: uy nood kayo nung bird cage sa netflix ganda siya!

• Excited nako sa black mirror! Wooohoooo!

• di ko padin tapos essay ko kakanood ko ng kung ano anong series. Behele ne!

• Na-try ko narin yung Jollibee dito. Of course nagreminisce ako nung natikman ko yung chicken. Pero mas nagreminisce ako sa eksenang tatayo ka sa likod nung kumakain to silently say ako yung susunod na uupo pag tapos na kayo lumafang. Punuan sila so unahan and kanya kanyang diskarte sa pagkuna ng seats which is medyo hassle if madami kayo. Also, don’t forget to bring cash at wala pang machine sila bes.
